International Volunteer Day, celebrated on December 5th each year, is a time to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions that volunteers make to communities. Volunteers offer their time, energy, and skills to support causes that help improve the world. Volunteer efforts can sometimes be unnoticed, but on this day, we want to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
At Crime Victim Services, we are fortunate to serve with some of the most generous and compassionate individuals in our community. Crime Victim Services’ Guardian volunteers support the most vulnerable members of our community in making significant life decisions for their protection and care. Crime Victim Services’ CASA volunteers connect with children to understand their needs and advocate for their best interest in the areas of safety, health and permanency. Crime Victim Services’ Board Members drive the mission, vision and future of the agency forward as decision makers and ambassadors.
“The depth of engagement our volunteers give to advocating for victims and in the prevention of crime in the community is admirable. For many, they’ve dedicated years upon years of service to helping others. They inspire us daily, and we are grateful for their efforts,” says Crime Victim Services’ Executive Director Amy Wiechart-Bayliff
International Volunteer Day is a reminder of the power of collective action and how small acts of service can create lasting, positive change for the good of others. The work of these dedicated individuals encourages more people to get involved and make a difference!
